Time Out #82 - Theme Challenge

Hi friends!  The Time Out challenge this time around is a theme challenge.  The theme is flowers (easy to do!) and the twist is to use the "kissing" technique.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary this month, and my sister-in-law and my best friend pulled off a surprise party for us.  And when I say surprise, I mean SURPRISE!  We had no clue whatsoever!  There were about 40 friends and family there, and we had so much fun and felt so loved!  We received many wonderful gifts, and I had to make about 20 thank you cards.  I needed to make something simple because of the amount of cards I had to do, and I wanted to emboss them in silver.  I just got this lovely floral stamp and since the challenge was flowers, it worked out perfectly.  Using the MISTI, I was able to stamp these in Versamark and then emboss them in silver embossing powder.  I sprayed it with shimmer spritz and added the Nuvo Drops.  Simple cards, but they were perfect for what I needed.

Stop by the Time Out blog to see what the design team created for this challenge.  We are sponsored by Happy Little Stampers too!

Just Us Girls #390 - Photo Week

Hey friends!  It's Photo Week over at Just Us Girls and Chris has a fun photo for us to use as inspiration!

Here's a larger photo for you to see all the details.

I saw the pattern on the rug and the black, red, yellow combination and that's what I used as inspiration.  I stenciled the background in yellow and added a panel stamped with circles in the red, black, and yellow colors.  I mounted that piece onto a black piece of cardstock to frame it and sprayed the card with shimmer spritz for some pretty shimmer.  Sequins finished it off.

The girls over at JUGs and our April guest have some fabulous designs to share with you.  Stop by the JUGs blog and play along!

I'm playing along in a couple of challenges.  It's been a long time since I've done that!

Just Us Girls #389 - Color Week

Happy Saturday!  It's time for another challenge over at Just Us Girls!  This week is our color challenge, and Ina chose some springy colors.

I was thinking ice cream with these colors.  I just had my first ice cream cone of the season the other day, and it was oh-so-good!  I stamped this image and the sprinkles then colored the ice cream and cone with copic markers.  I die cut it with the coordinating die and spritzed it with shimmer spritz.  The pattern paper was die cut with a scallop die and adhered to the card base with fun foam.  I added the sentiment and sequins for more shimmer.

Time Out #81 - Home Sweet Home Challenge

The current challenge over at the Time Out blog is our Home Sweet Home challenge.

This is the photo for you to use as inspiration.  Isn't it cool?

We are sponsored by STAMPlorations for this challenge, and I used this cool Shower of Flutters stencil from them on my card.  I sponged pink, red, and burgundy inks over the panel for this look.  I took the colors from the photo.  I love the striking white against this ombre look.  I die cut the panel with the wonky stitches die and added the black word die and sequins.  I sprayed it with shimmer spritz (which you can't see in the photo), and it shimmers so nicely in the light!

You can stop by the Time Out blog to see what STAMPlorations is offering for this challenge, and to see what the Time Out design team and our guest, Michelle, have created for this challenge.

Just Us Girls #388 - Trend Week

Hi friends!  I'm a little late to the game here, but better late than never!  I usually make my cards on Friday nights because it's just a nice way to unwind from the long week.  It relaxes me!  But last night at the last minute, I went out with friends and didn't make it home until midnight! So my card was made this morning!

Sue chose multi-step stamping for this week's Trend Week challenge at Just Us Girls.  Love this trend!

I found this brand new multi-step stamp set on my table and just had to use it!  I stamped it in yellow and orange inks.  I matched it up with this pretty gingham pattern paper (that I have so much of, but hardly ever use anymore).  I die cut the square frame and mounted the flowers on the square panel in the middle.  The frame was mounted flush with the card base and the middle part was popped up.  I sprayed the frame and middle panel and flowers with shimmer spritz.  I added some pretty sequins to finish it off.

My layout came from this week's Fusion challenge, however I left off the banner.  Even my colors follow the photo from their challenge.

Just Us Girls #387 - Word Week

Hi everyone!  The challenge this week over at Just Us Girls is our word challenge, and Nancy chose SEA.  So many great things you can do with this word!

I tried to do a scene with a lighthouse, but I'm just not good at creating scenes.  So I pulled out this flamingo stamp set and pretty much followed the picture on the package for my layout.  I used the Distress Oxide inks for the water and sky.  The flamingo is a layering stamp and is stamped with three different pink inks.  I die cut water with a hills die and the frame with a wonky stitches die.  I added clear sequins and also spritzed the completed panel with shimmer spritz.  The main panel is mounted on desert storm paper for more of a beach look.  My friends and I have a girls' night planned in a few weeks at one of our friend's house, so I thought I'd take this with a gift for her.
